SEARCH ENGINES:
The WayBack Machine

So Google
is at 3 billion documents. So What? The WayBackMachine has 10 billion.
Not quite a fair comparison though. The way back machine's database
has cached versions of pages from 1996 onwards. It's a priceless addition
to the search engine world.

SEARCH ENGINES:
RDN

The RDN is a UK-based directory of Internet resources
relevant to teaching, learning and research - much like "The Librarian's
Index to the Internet" in the US. It is compiled by subject experts
from various colleges and universities across the UK. What makes it
especially valuable is that it categorizes sites, allowing obscure but
important sites to be found. Many sites listed in this directory can't
be found on any other search engine. At the moment, they list about
35,000 in 11 topical categories.
